Message from Chairman, Tournament Committee
I extend a warm welcome to all the participants of the 53rd All India Police Duty Meet (AIPDM) being held from February 2-9, 2010, in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, at Gujarat Police Academy, Karai, Gandhinagar. It is a matter of pride that All India Police Duty Meet has become a most significant event in the calendar of police sports meets. The Meet is an ideal platform for the state police forces and central police forces of the country to learn from each other and also demonstrate their professional skills and expertise in these competitions.
Peace and security are essential for maintaining the momentum of growth and development of the Nation, so that the vision of a developed Nation by 2020 is achieved. The Police have an important role as partners in this mission.
As you are aware today there are many challenges for internal security in the country. Good police community relation is essential in any society. To improve police efficiency and delivery system and bring about better police community relations, more and more ICT initiatives are required in police working.
I look forward to your participation in 53rd All India Police Duty Meet and wish the event a grand success.
Shri SS Khandwawala, IPS
Director-General and Inspector-General of Police
Gujarat Police
