Joining Instructions: All India Police Duty Meet-2010
I. INTRODUCTION:
Gujarat Police is happy to welcome you to the 53rd All India Police Duty Meet at Gandhinagar. The duty meet will be conducted in accordance with the rules prescribed by the All India Police Sports Control Board, New Delhi-110 001.
DATE : The 53rd All India Police Duty Meet will be held from 2-02.2010 to 09-02-2010
Gujarat State adheres to the policy of ‘Prohibition’. Any violation of 'Prohibition Policy' is punishable under The Bombay Prohibition Act.
II- ARRIVAL OF TEAMS
Accommodation for the participants, accompanying officials, judges and senior officials will be made available from 30-1-2010 F.N. Teams therefore need not arrive before. Team Managers are requested to report to the Gujarat Police Academy, Gandhinagar immediately on their arrival.
III – RECEPTION CENTRE
Reception/Assistance counters will be set up at
- Ahmedabad / Vadodara Airport
- Ahmedabad / Vadodara Railway stations
- Geeta Mandir Bus stand, Ahmedabad
IV & V - PROGRAMME SCHEDULE & VENUE
The detailed schedule of the competitions will be handed over to the Team Managers on their arrival. The TENTATIVE PROGRAMME of the meet is as follows:-

VI- ACCOMMODATION
All participants and accompanying officials upto the rank of Supdts. of Police will be accommodated at the Gujarat Police Academy, Karai.
Accommodation for officers of and above the rank of Supdts. of Police, Judges and their Committee officials, will be arranged in Gujarat Police Academy/Police Mess/Circuit Houses /Guest houses/Hotels and other suitable places at Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.
The details regarding the number of officers and men of each participating team should be submitted online latest by 21-01-2010.
The teams are requested to bring their own bed kits, light woollens, mosquito nets and suitable clothing including 2 sets of working uniform.
Names of Senior Officers coming to Gandhinagar, Gujarat with mode of transport and exact time of arrival with probable duration of stay should also be intimated in time so as to ensure necessary arrangements for their comfortable stay at Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.
VII- MESSING
All participating teams will bring their own mess with Cooks/Followers/Other class IV employees. Assistance may be sought to procure gas, firewood, provisions, vegetables, meat etc., from the Camp Commandant, at their own cost.
VIII- TRANSPORT
Transport for the officers and the team members to and fro from their place of stay to the venue of competition will be provided.
IX- AIR/RAIL RESERVATIONS
The participating teams are requested to make their return AIR/RAIL reservations from Ahmedabad well in advance. However assistance may be sought from the Reception/Transport/Accommodation and Reservation Committee for obtaining Reservation/Confirmation of Reservations. The nearest Airport is Sardar Vallabhbhai International Airport and the National Airport at Ahmedabad located at a distance of 15 Kms, from Gujarat Police Academy Karai, Gandhinagar.
Ahmedabad (Kalupur) Railway Station is situated in the heart of Ahmedabad City. Apart from that there is also a Railway station at Vadodara. The teams may kindly intimate their mode of journey, date and expected time of arrival at Ahmedabad/Vadodara to the undersigned by 10-1-2010 positively.
X- SECURITY
In order to ensure maximum security, all the officials and members of the teams will be required to carry their Identity Cards. The Managers of the participating teams should sent two recent passport size photographs in uniform of each participant/official along with the entry forms for the purpose of preparing Duty Meet Identity Cards.
XI- DISCIPLINE
A very high standard of discipline is expected of all the men and Officers of the participating teams. The Team Managers will be personally responsible for the orderly behavior of their team members during the period of the Duty Meet.
XII- UNIFORM
All the members of the participating teams are requested to wear their prescribed working uniform during various competitions and also during the inaugural and valedictory ceremonies.
XIII- ELIGIBILITY CONDITION
Every competitor participating in the championship must have completed a minimum of one-year service in Police in the rank of P.C or above, as on 2-12-08 and a certificate to that effect at the bottom of the entry form should be appended duly signed by an officer not below the rank of IGP. The Entry Forms should not contain more names than the maximum laid down in the All India Police Sports Control Board, New Delhi.
XIV- ENTRY FORM / ENTRY FEE AND NOMINAL ROLL
Online Registrations from Competitions shall be made available from 1st January 2010. Please note that no registrations shall be accepted through any other means (post, fax, email, etc.) except online.
All the participating teams are requested to ensure that the entry forms are filled up online on or before 21-01-2010. The participating teams are also requested to take note of the revised rules governing the rates and payments of entry fee for the Duty Meet.
As per the latest instructions issued by the Central Co-ordinating Committee, New Delhi, the entry fee has to be deposited at the rate of Rs.25/- per participant including Reserve, Manager and Coaches. This fee has to be sent in lump sum to the Organising Secretary, 53rd AIPDM 2010 along with the entry forms.
It is requested that this amount may be remitted through Bank Draft in favour of Shri V. V. Rabari, Chairman, Organizing Committee, 53rd All India Police Duty Meet-2010, Gandhinagar, payable at State Bank of India, Main Branch, Gandhinagar (Account number 30894756260).
XV- OPENING CEREMONY
The opening ceremony will be held on 02.01.2010 at 1000 hrs at Gujarat Police Academy, Karai, Gandhinagar All teams should bring their respective State Police/Central Police Organisations/Union Territories flags of the following specification:-
- Flag for Hoisting 6' x 4'
- Flag for March past 3' x 2'
XVI- CLOSING CEREMONY
The closing ceremony will be held on 09.02.2010 at 1500 hrs at the Gujarat Police Academy, Karai, Gandhinagar.
XVII- SYLLABUS FOR THE EVENTS
The new syllabus circulated by the Central Co-Ordinating Committee regarding All India Police Duty Meet vide their ref. No.2/Police (Sports) 2008(2)-1018 dated 14.5.2008 is enclosed to this circular.
XVIII- TROPHIES
All the trophies won at the last duty meet may be arranged to be delivered to the Secretary, Central Co-Ordinating Committee, New Delhi well in time.
XIX- WELFARE SEMINAR
A Police welfare seminar will be held during the 53rd All India Police Duty Meet-2010. There would be no competition in the welfare exhibition but the Gujarat Police will put up a stall exhibiting its own items. Other states may also send a few representative samples for display. The detailed instructions regarding the conduct of every item of competition of this Duty Meet are available with the All India Police Sports Control Board, New Delhi. Participating units are requested to collect them from New Delhi for their convenience.
XX- LIFE SAVING MEDAL
The Prime Minister’s Police Medal for Life Saving would be awarded to the recipients on 09.02.2010 during the Closing ceremony of the Duty Meet.
XXI- WEATHER IN GANDHINAGAR
Climate
Similar to most parts of India, Gandhinagar has three main seasons, summer, winter, and monsoon. The climate on average is dry through the year except during monsoon season. The summer, which lasts from March -June is very hot with maximum temperature reaching to 42-43oC. The maximum temperature ranges between 36-42oC and minimum temperature fluctuates 19-27oC during Summer Season. The winter season, which ranges from mid-October to mid-February, is pleasant with average maximum and minimum temperature being 29oC and 14oC respectively.
The temperature in January ranges from 25oC to 11oC and in February from 29oC to 14oC. In the month of January/February Gandhinagar will have chilly weather in the mornings, moderately warm in the afternoons and slightly chilly in the evening requiring warm clothing. Gandhinagar is much cooler compared to Ahmedabad, due to thick green foliage.
Geography
Gandhinagar , the Capital of Gujarat, lies at the bank of river Sabarmati at 23.22oN and 72.68oE with an average elevation of 265 feet (81 meter) above mean sea level.
